Workers at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti yesterday down tools thereby abandoning prospective patients.
The aggrieved workers under the aegis of Joint Health Workers Union (JOHESU) shut down the medical institution.
All major entrances to the hospital were on lock as early as 7.00 am and prevented all other workers from gaining access to the hospital.
The workers hinged their action on the alleged failure of government to attend to their demands.
JOHESU Chairperson, Comrade Omotola Farotimi said it has been a long time matter which government failed to resolve over the years including non remittance of our coperative deductions, special levies, union dues and implementation of minimum wage.
