Atiku, Rhodes-Vivour congratulate Adeleke on Osun re-election

Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election for a second term in office.
Atiku, in a statement posted on his official X account on Sunday, described Adeleke’s victory as a reflection of the choice made by the people of Osun at the ballot box.
He also commended residents of the state for what he described as their peaceful participation in the governorship election.
“I congratulate Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as Governor of Osun State.
“His victory demonstrates the choice of the people of Osun as expressed at the ballot box. I commend the people for their passion and peaceful participation,” Atiku wrote.
He further wished Adeleke success as he begins his second term as governor of the state.
Similarly, the Lagos State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, congratulated the people of Osun State on what he described as a “spectacular triumph against tyranny.”
Rhodes-Vivour, in a separate post on X on Sunday, said the outcome of the election showed that intimidation and inducement could not prevent determined voters from exercising their franchise.
“I congratulate the great people of Osun on their spectacular triumph against tyranny.
“You have proven that no amount of guns, intimidation and inducement can deter a people determined not to return under the yoke of their oppressors,” he wrote.
Rhodes-Vivour urged Nigerians to draw lessons from the Osun election and build on them ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Let us take the lessons from Osun and build on it towards the general elections,” he added.
