2020 Budget: We Didn’t Remove N100B For Mambilla Power Project- Fin.Minister

The Minister of Finance, Hajia Zainab Ahmed ,has denied removing N100billion proposed for the Mambilla Power project- by the Ministry of Power in the 2021 budget estimates
She disclosed at the ongoing budget defence of the House Committee on Finance ,that at no time did the Ministry remove the said amount
According to her , it was possible that the Minister of Power, Engineer Mamman Saleh did not understand the budgeting dynamics which is operated by the “Envelope system’
Once the MTEF is passed , it allows your envelope, she disclosed. Power didn’t have Mambilla in the budget : We interacted, we didn’t remove it , maybe Power Minister didn’t understand ”
Recall that the Finance Committee Chairman , James Faleke, had asked the Minister why such a colossal amount was removed from the budget of the power Ministry, considering the importance of the project towards enhancing the problematic electricity situation in the country
