The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on Plateau State House of Assembly members elected on its platform to remain focused and united in making laws for the state’s common good.
Mr. Rufus Bature, Plateau APC Chairman, made the call when the APC State Executive Committee met with its members in the assembly.
A statement issued by Mr. Sylvanus Namang, the APC State Publicity Secretary on Friday in Jos, said that all the
APC members in the house were in attendance except for the former speaker, Abok Ayuba.
The chairman who is a former member of the assembly said that he was happy that peace had fully returned in the house after the change of its speaker two months ago.
“Remain focused and united as a force to be able to make laws for the common good of the state and its people.
“Your unity is your integrity. That is why you are called honorable members. You should be seen to be honorable at all times,” he said.
Bature added that the members could not be in the same party and be castigating each other.
He commended them for their quick passage of the 2022 budget.
The chairman further charged them to work in synergy with the governor to provide the dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots.
He said “the party leadership will engage all disenchanted parties in a heart-to-heart dialogue as it believes in the restoration of total unity in the party.
“The party will not tolerate acts of indiscipline or anti-party activities of any kind from its members”.
Bature told the members that the state executive would soon embark on a tour of all the 17 local government earas to get first-hand views of their challenges.
