A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has said that the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele has not been removed from his position.
Omokri said this in reaction to unconfirmed reports that President Muhammadu Buhari had terminated Emefiele’s appointment over his refusal to resign before pursuing political ambition.
According to Reno, a top shot in the Apex Bank confirmed to him that the news was false.

“I spoke to a very top shot in the CBN about the news that Buhari sacked CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele. His response ‘as far as I know, it is false’.
“I was against Emefiele running and retaining his post. But dont celebrate the downfall of a man God has not fallen,” Omokri wrote on Twitter.
