-says party chairmanship is for the zone too
-advice’s Tinubu, Osinbajo not to contest
By Dennis Mernyi, Abuja
The All Progressives Congress (APC) will have so much to contend with as the party gathers this weekend in Abuja for it’s national convention.

One of the thorny issue is the appropriate region to zone the 2023 presidential ticket where every chieftain if the party is pulling to their sides.

This is coming as one of the front line presidential aspirant, Hon Moses Ayom has charged the party to equally zone the party’s presidency to the north central region of the country if it must win 2023 general elections.

Ayom, is an international business is the MD/CEO of Granite and Marble, an indigenous company and other investments spanning into real estate, import and export is already making Nigeria proud.
The 53 years old investor however, insisted that the party also maintain its national chairmanship zoning to the region as a way to ensuring equity, fairness and justice to the north central zone that has suffered marginalisation in the past.

The vibrant Benue born merchant has also advised both the party’s leader, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and vice president Yemi Osinbajo not to contest for presidency, stating that, that will not be a fair deal to other ethnics, groups and regions of the country particularly, the north central.

He asked Tinubu and Osinbajo to withdraw from the race and support a vibrant north central candidate to emerge as president.
Speaking in an a telephone interview in Abuja with This Nigeria, Ayom insisted that, “zoning the presidency and the national chairmanship of the APC to the north central is not too much.

” The region has suffered injustice for too long. We need to be compensated for all that we lost in the past.

“Every region in this country has produced the president of this country except the north central. We have contributed and supported others for too long. This is our time. And we must be paid back.

” The position of the national chairmanship zones to the north central is not enough. The presidency is for the region is not too much and Benue is a key factor”, he stated.

He however, regretted that some persons have misconstrued his recent interview on Arise TV when he insisted that APC should zone the presidency to the region as challenging the national chairmanship candidature of the minister of Special Duties and Inter Governmental Affairs, Senator George Akume.

“Regrettably, some persons seems not to understand my point when I insist that the party should equally zone the presidency to the north central.

“They reasoned that I am under mining the candidature of the distinguished George Akume my boss. They are wrong.

“The two positions are not too much for the zone. They are meant for us if the party want to be fair to us”, he said.

This is the reason I asked Tinubu and Osinbajo to withdraw from the race and support a middle belt (north central) to become president of Nigeria.

” I said the same thing should be applied to the candidate from my own state of Benue and elsewhere within the region wanting the position of national chairmanship.
