Gov Lalong calls for hitch-free Plateau council polls

As Plateau state prepare for their local government elections scheduled for 9th of October 2021, Governor Simon Lalong on Sunday called on every resident of this state to help make it a peaceful, free and exemplary exercise of democratic choice.”
Lalong made this known while speaking at the inter-denominational Church service to mark the 61st Independence Anniversary at the Government House Chapel Rayfield Jos.
He said that ” As we prepare to hold Local Government Elections on the 9th of October, I wish to appeal to all citizens, political parties and their followers, as well as leaders of thought across the State, to work for a peaceful exercise. PLASIEC, security agencies, and other stakeholders have given their commitment to being fair to all contestants and political parties.
In his words “Let us go out there to freely choose those we want to govern us at the grassroots level without any molestation.”

The Governor also called on citizens of the state to continue to pray and support its leaders particularly President Muhammadu Buhari who is doing his best to build a better Nigeria.
“No leader has all the answers or can do everything perfectly. Our support and prayers will go a long way in giving him more wisdom to do the right things at the right time.”
He pledged to always work to ensure that lasting peace is restored in the state at all times.
