Ahmed Danladi, a 35-year-old driver in Abuja has been ordered by a Zone Six Chief Magistrates’ Court to sweep the court premises for two days.
Danladi was accused of stealing a cleaning machine and trying to sell it to a scavenger over the fence. When he was arrested and interrogated by the police, Danladi confessed to the crime and pleaded guilty to the one count of theft by a servant in court.
He has no option of fine and was ordered by Omolola Akindele, the Chief Magistrate, to sweep the court premises for two days.
It is reported that Danladi’s offence went against Section 289 of the Penal Code Law.
