Tobi Adebayo
Nigerians have berated a Senator representing Lagos Central, Remi Tinubu for verbally assaulting an unidentified woman at the public hearing of the 1999 Constitution review on Wednesday.

According to a video posted by The Cable, Tinubu reportedly called the woman a “thug” for protesting their non-inclusion from the event.

Remi Tinubu is the South-West leader of the Senate Committee on Review of the 1999 Constitution.

The Senator also reportedly refused to apologise after other participants at the venue demanded one for the woman.

“I will not apologise for what I said. I saw it and I said it,” Tinubu reportedly said.

Reacting to the viral clip, former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri described Tinubu as a woman “married to a thug.”

How can you be married to a thug and you are calling your fellow woman a thug?” he tweeted.

@ayemojubar tweeted: I’ll say this again, Remi Tinubu, the matriarch of the Lagos thug will never be the first lady in Nigeria.”

@de_communicator tweeted: Happy #ChildrensDay, but if you’re praying, working or rooting for a thug like Remi Tinubu to become our first lady, thunder fire you, fire Remi, fire Desmond Elliot and Bashir
