60th Independence: Bauchi NGO Donates To Orphanage Home To Celebrate Independence

A Non-governmental Organization, the Ubuntu Mothers hang out, Bauchi Chapter has distributed gifts items to Motherless babies home in the state, saying that giving to the orphans and vulnerable in the society is the best way to celebrate Nigeria 60th Independence.

Mrs Helen Daniel Musa, the State Coordinator of the NGO while giving an address at the Orphanage home, said that the association’s visit to the orphanage home, especially in the spirit of the Nigeria Independence is to show love to less privileged persons such as the orphans, disabled and the vulnerable.

Ubuntu literally means humanity towards one another and that is what we actually came here to do.The Organization which has been in existence for three years, comprises of women of all classes who come together to render selfless service to the various communities they find themselves in.”

“Thank God that Nigeria is celebrating it’s 60 years of independence and we are here to rejoice with the children of Marayu homes. It is a wonderful experience and great opportunity to share joyful moments with them. I sincerely appreciate all those who supported this visit, both in gifts and cash, our greatest achievements is that the children are happy and felt that sense of belonging”, she said.

The State Coordinator said that the Organization has also empowered women by carrying out skill acquisition Programmes such as the making of sanitary pads, soaps, sanitizers, bead making, head tie as well educating young girls on sex education.

Earlier in her remarks, the Executive Chairman of Bauchi State Orphans and Vulnerable Children Agency, Mrs Hassan Arkila said that the government of Bauchi state is concerned about the plights of the Orphans and Vulnerable Children, hence an agency was created to cater for their needs.

She called on good spirited individuals, philanthropists and other Nigerians to always consider the less privileged persons in their domains, saying that no celebration can be complete without impacting the lives of people who are vulnerable.
