A 400l student of Arthur Jarvis University, Josephine Etim Edet, was on Friday rescued from the den of her kidnappers by the Cross River State Police Command.
Recall that unknown gunmen had on Tuesday, July 19, kidnapped Josephine and severely macheted one of her colleague while they were returning from class within the premises of the school which is located in the Akpabuyo Local government area of the state.
Following directives of the Commissioner of Police Cross River state, CP Aminu Alhassan, a covert operation was carried out by a Crack Team of policemen to rescue the victim from the unidentified men.

According to reports, the victim was rescued at about 1:12 am on Friday while the policemen neutralized some of the suspects and arrested one of the member of the criminal gang.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the command , SP Irene Ugbo described the recuse as a laudable breakthrough by the police.
However, the victim and the injured suspect are receiving treatment at the hospital.
