Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has signed the 2025 budget of N719.8bn into law.
The governor also promised to judiciously utilise the state’s funds using global public financial management best practices.
The budget signing was held yesterday at Government House.
The appropriation bill was signed after being passed by the State House of Assembly.
This budget was tagged “Budget of Hope, Human Capital, and Economic Development.”
It prioritises education, infrastructure, and human capital development, with 64 percent allocated to capital expenditure and 36 percent to recurrent expenditure.
The Governor assured the people of the state that the budget would be utilised judiciously for the benefit of the populace.
” I want to guarantee that allocating 64 percent of the budget to capital projects and 36 percent to recurrent expenditures will positively impact the lives of the citizens.
” The total budget estimate that has been ratified today amounts to N719.8bn, with 64 percent allocated to capital projects, totalling N457bn and recurrent expenditure totalling N262.6bn.
” Today, we witnessed the ratification of the 2025 budget, which was presented to the Kano State House of Assembly a few months ago,” he said.
Yusuf expressed gratitude to the Speaker of the assembly and the members for their dedication to making the budget a reality.
