Abductors release kidnapped Nollywood actors

Nollywood actors, Clemson Cornel and Cynthia Okereke have been released from the den of their kidnappers.

Their release was announced in a statement on Wednesday by the actors Guild’s Director of Communication, Monalisa Chinda.

Recall that the Actors Guild of Nigeria had announced the kidnap of Clemson Cornel and Cynthia Okereke on Thursday, July 28 after their families confirmed they didn’t return from a film location in Enugu.

The abductors had demanded a ransom of $100,000.

The statement reads” this is to gladly inform the public that the kidnapped actors, Cynthia Okereke and clemson Cornel Agbogidi have been released unhurt.

“On behalf of their families, the National President expressed our heartfelt appreciation to the Nollywood industry and Nigerians at large for the support and prayers during the trying period.

“He urged members to be security conscious on and off film sets and always take precautionary measures on their security at all times,” she added.

Although, it is unclear if ransom was paid to ensure the abducted actors were released, the guild however disclosed that it arranged medical checks and psychological support for the victims.
