Abiodun: Ibadan-Ijebu Ode road dualisation to boost Ogun’s industrial, agricultural corridors

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has said the ongoing dualisation of the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road will strengthen economic activities, improve access to key destinations and open up new opportunities across the South-West.

Abiodun stated this on Tuesday in a message posted on his social media platforms while reacting to the commencement of the road project.

The governor said the project would improve connectivity between Ogun, Oyo and other parts of the region, with potential benefits for commerce, agriculture, industry and transportation.

According to him, the road will particularly improve access to Ijebu-Ode, Ago-Iwoye and the Gateway International Airport, while strengthening the state’s industrial and agricultural corridors.

“For us in Ogun State, the project will significantly improve access to Ijebu-Ode, Ago-Iwoye and the Gateway International Airport, strengthen our industrial and agricultural corridors, create new economic opportunities and complement our ongoing investments under the Building Our Future Together Agenda,” Abiodun said.

He described the commencement of the dualisation as a major step towards improving regional connectivity and supporting sustainable economic growth.

Abiodun also commended President Bola Tinubu for approving the project under the Renewed Hope Agenda and praised the Minister of Works, David Umahi, and his team for their efforts towards its implementation.

He said the project, when completed, would complement existing infrastructure investments in Ogun State and further enhance the movement of people, goods and services across the region.
