Adeleke convoy not attacked, Davido clarifies

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has rejected reports that hoodlums attacked the convoy of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, in Osogbo.
The singer, who was in Osogbo on Wednesday, said the incident being reported as an attack on the governor’s convoy was instead a fight that occurred outside the palace.
Davido made the clarification in a post on X while reacting to reports that gunmen had allegedly opened fire on Adeleke’s convoy.
“Lies! It was a fight outside the palace that had nothing to do with us! The pple love excellency!” he wrote.
He did not provide further details about the altercation or identify those involved.
The clarification came as Adeleke continued engagements following his victory in the Osun governorship election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission had earlier presented the governor and his deputy, Kola Adewusi, with their Certificates of Return in Osogbo, formally confirming their mandate for another four years.
