By David Lawani
The Chairman, caretaker extraordinary convention planning committee (CECPC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mai Mala Buni, has canceled the ‘purported’ National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party slated for Thursday.

This is however after a directive from President Muhammadu Buhari to the party hierarchy to recognize Governor Buni and stop further inflammatory remarks.

In a statement signed by the secretary of the CECPC, John James Akpanudoedehe, on Wednesday saying: “As directed by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning (CECPC) and Governor of Yobe State, H.E. Mai Mala Buni, a purported emergency meeting of the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) slated for Thursday, March 16, 2022, is hereby canceled.”

It is believed that the purported NEC meeting was being planned by Governor Sani Bello of Niger state to unseat Buni as chairman.
