The All Progressives Congress State Woman Leader in Ekiti State, Mrs. Monisade, has emerged as the Deputy Governorship candidate of the party for the June 18 poll.
Afuye, who hails from Ikere Ekiti, the second-largest city in Ekiti, was adopted by the stakeholders ahead of other political bigwigs like the speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Funminiyi Afuye and the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Muyiwa Olumilua.
The news was however against expectations of the party members from Ekiti South Senatorial District.
The APC chieftain attended Saint Joseph C.A.C Primary School, Aramoko Ekiti for her primary education, after which she proceeded to Amoye Grammar school, Ikere-Ekiti for her secondary education.
For her tertiary education, she attended the School of catering, Ik Aja, Lagos State, and Crown Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, where she acquired her Ordinary National and Higher National Diploma certificates in Public Administration.
Mrs. Afuye is the CEO of Demolad Catering Services and has been recognized in her town with a chieftaincy title of Okinlua of Ikere Kingdom.
Meanwhile, the Campaign Organization of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Hon. Bisi Kolawole has said that the State will be made secure for its residents while the welfare of the people and infrastructural development will be prioritized when the party returns to power in October this year.
BKCO, while noting that the governorship election campaign will be issue-based, reminded the APC that records of its mis-governance in the State by its “absentee governor” will form part of those issues on which the campaign will be based.
