The Hierarchy of the Nigerian Navy (NN), has unveiled the new Director of Naval Information and Spokesman of the Nigerian Navy, Commodore Adedotun Olukayode Ayo-Vaughan.
Commodore Ayo-Vaughan who replaces Commodore Suleman Dahun, following a recent shakeup in the service, has since resumed duty at Naval Headquarters.
Announcing the new changes in a statement on Tuesday, the Director of Plans, Rear Admiral JD Akpan said that the recent appointment of senior officers in the Nigerian Navy redeployed the erstwhile Director to the Transformation Branch of the Naval Headquarters as Director Civil-Military Cooperation.
Commodore Ayo-Vaughan is a member of the 43rd Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and a Masters Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He also holds Masters in Defence Management, Command and Strategy, Ecole de Guerre, France and a Post Graduate Certificate in Data Science and Business Analytics from the University of Texas, USA. He attended the French War College (Ecole de Guerre), Paris, France for his strategic course.
The senior officer is a member of some professional bodies which include Associate Member, Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), Associate Member Nigeria Society of International Affairs and Associate Member Royal Institute of Navigation, UK.
He was equally at a time the Command Information Officer of the Western Naval Command, Lagos.
Until his present appointment, he was the Commandant, Nigerian Naval College, Onne.
Rear Admiral Akpan appealed to Defence correspondents to accord the new Spokesman of the Nigerian Navy, the
necessary support to succeed in his new appointment.
