Ajayi still in the race for Ondo elections

A letter has supposedly made the rounds on social media that incumbent deputy governor of Ondo state and ZLP candidate, Agboola Ajayi, has dropped out of the polls.
However, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Babatope Okeowo, denies that claim.
He said that Ajayi is still very much in the running for today’s election for the governorship seat. He is contesting against to major contenders, the incumbent governor and APC candidate, Rotimi Akeredolu and PDP candidate, Eyitayo Jegede.
He said, “The attention of the Deputy Governor and candidate of Zenith Labour Party, Hon Agboola Ajayi has been drawn to a purported letter withdrawing from today’s governorship race.
“Let the general public and the good people of Ondo State know that the Deputy Governor is in the race to win and will not withdraw from the race or merge with any of the governorship candidates.”
