Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, weekend reassured the people of Niger Delta that their interest would be taken into consideration in making decisions that affect the region, just as he describes the late Olu of Warri as a great Patriarch.
The Minister stated this when he and his entourage, paid a condolence visit to the Warri Kingdom, over the death of His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli, the Olu Of Warri.
According to Akpabio, ” let me assure you all that the interest of all Niger Deltans would be taken into consideration on any decision we would take in the affairs of the region”.
He described the late monarch as a great patriarch, saying, kings don’t die, they only go to join the ancestors”.

During the condolence visit, the youths of Itsekiri through their national president, Comrade Agbateyiniro Weyinmi thanked the Minister for the visit and appealed to the Minister to have the interest of the Itsekiri youths in mind, while constituting the NDDC Board, as no one from Itsekiri has ever benefited from it.
The Minister afterward paid a visit to the Olu Of Warri Designate, Prince Tsola Emiko, where he prayed for a peaceful and successful tenure for him.
