Akwa Ibom Assembly passes anti-open grazing bill

Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has passed the anti-open grazing bill into law.

The bill was passed on Tuesday after it was read on the floor of the House during plenary.

ThisNigeria reported that the bill had passed for the second reading on Thursday, September 10.

It was sponsored by Udo Kieran, a member representing Oruk Anam State Constituency.

Speaking after the reading, the House Speaker, Aniekan Bassey directed the House Clerk, Mandu Umoren to transmit the bill to the state Governor, Emmanuel Udom for assent.

ThisNigeria reported that the Lagos State Assembly also passed the anti-open grazing bill into law on September 9.
