Alex Ikwechegh: Police detained me for over two hours – delivery driver

The delivery driver assaulted by Alex Ikwechegh, the member representing Aba North and South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly has shared an account of what transpired after the viral video he recorded.

In an interview with popular social media activist, VeryDarkMan, the bolt driver said he was later arrested by the politician and was detained at the Maitama Police Station for over two hours.

The driver, who had a swollen face said, “I was bundled to the station and was not allowed to pick my calls. They didn’t ask me what happened, they were asking people who were not present when the incident transpired.

“The honourable was reached on the phone to speak with the IPO in charge of the case, after some time, the IPO left me at the station and said he wanted to go for an investigation at the honourable’s house. On getting back, he started chastising me for recording the video.

“They gave me a form to write my statement, as I was filling it, the honourable came in and was still threatening me.”

He revealed that the police have refused to release his car to him.
