Alleged assault: Court grants Portable N2m bail

The Isabo Magistrate Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State has granted controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable bail.

Portable was arraigned before the court on Thursday for allegedly assaulting officials of the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA).

The 30-year-old turned himself in on Wednesday after he was declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command for repeatedly ignoring police invitations.

Portable was arraigned on a five count charge.

The charges include conspiracy, assault and restriction, armed with cutlasses and guns, conduct likely to cause harm.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

After pleading not guilty to the charges, his counsel, Oluwatoyin Ayodele, urged the court to grant him bail.

Ayodele assured the court that the suspect “is now remorseful and has learnt his lessons.”

Magistrate O L Oke granted N2m bail with one surety in the like sum.

He adjourned the case till March 5 for trial.
