The Lagos State Police Command has said that it will not release Nollywood actor, Olarenwaju James a.k.a Baba Ijesha as reported by the media.

Actress Iyabo Ojo made this known via an Instagram live video on Thursday.

The actress, alongside other concerned Nigerians, had taken to the police station where Baba Ijesha is being held for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl (name withheld) after reports that he may be released due to lack of evidence went viral.

“We have been assured that Baba Ijesha will not be released. All the media platforms reporting otherwise better retract their story. He is still in jail and he will remain there,” she said.

Iyabo had earlier posted a confessional video showing Baba Ijesha admitting to the molestation of the teenager.

In the video, the actor could be seen sitting on the floor of an apartment and apologising for molesting the child.
