A high court on Wednesday granted bail to embattled Nollywood actor, Moses Armstrong who was accused of raping a minor in Akwa Ibom

Recall that Armstrong was arrested on June 13th for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl he adopted and had been residing with him and his family.

The court, before his bail, charged him with rape, intimidation, conspiracy and supplying of drugs for procurement of abortion which the actor pleaded not guilty to.

His lawyer Mr. Pantaleon drew the attention of the judge to his bail appeal filed July 25 during court proceeding which the prosecutor, an assistant state counsel, I.U. Robert opposed citing it as an “abuse of court process.”

However, the Judge, Ntong Ntong, after listening to submissions of both counsels granted the actor bail in a sum of 5 million naira.
