Anambra: 3,500 business women endorse Andy Uba for Saturday’s election

Members of the United Business Women Association of Nigeria in Diaspora on Wednesday endorsed Senator Andy Uba of the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Saturday’s election in Anambra state.

The group made up of over 3,500 businesswomen said the manifesto of the APC flagbearer which is women-friendly had informed their decision to back his ambition.

President of the body, Mrs. Nkiru Duru who spoke during the endorsement ceremony held in Umudioka in Dunukofia Local Government Area of the state, said Senator Uba was the only governorship candidate who looked their direction out of the rest candidates in the race.

She said, “Among all the 18 governorship candidates contesting the election, only Sen. Andy Uba has identified with us sincerely and pragmatically.

“Before October 31, our doors were opened for all the governorship candidates to come and convince us with their individual and party manifestos.

“We were also waiting to hear how business women would be carried along in government, governance, and business opportunities when any of them wins the election.

“It was only Sen. Andy that came to us, presented his manifesto, and convinced us that when elected he will ensure we have good access to favorable business loans opportunities.

“He also promised to give us political appointment opportunities. Since he has recognized us and also believed in our objectives, conscience demands we support him by voting for him.”

Senator Uba in his response assured the women facilitation of their business loans with favourable conditions.

“See me as your partner in progress. I assure each of you that when I emerge governor, I will facilitate good business loans with favorable conditions,” he said.
