Reprieve may have come the way of former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Professor Charles Chukeuma Soludo as Justice C. C . Okaa of the Anambra State High Court sitting Awka, the state capital on Monday ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reinstall him as the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the November 6 Governorship election in the state.

The court said that Soludo’s name should replace the name of Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji.

Justice Okaa made the order in his judgment delivered in an application brought before the Court by factional national chairmen of APGA. Chief Victor Oye.

The Judge also held that Chief Oye is the bona fide national chairman of APGA contrary to claims by two other persons, Chief Jude Okeke and Chief Edozie Njoku to that position.

Chief Jude Okeke led faction of APGA had fielded the member representing Aguata federal constituency of Anambra State in the National Assembly, Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji as APGA Candidate for the coming Anambra governorship, the INEC had earlier published his name as the Party’s candidate based on an order of a Federal High Court sitting in Jigawa state.

Another factional leadership of APGA under Chief Edozie Njoku as its national chairman also elected Edozie Njoku as the APGA candidate for the same governorship election.

Justice Okaa had delivered the judgment under tight security led by one Umar Garbar.
