Anambra election: FRSC to work with other security agencies

The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, has directed operatives of the corps deployed to cover the Anambra governorship election to ensure effective collaboration with other security agencies.

This is contained in a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Mr Bisi Kazeem on Tuesday in Abuja

Oyeyemi said that there was a need for the FRSC operatives to collaborate with the Nigerian Police and other security agencies in the enforcement of restrictions on vehicular movement.

He noted that the directives were part of preparations towards ensuring smooth conduct of the forthcoming Anambra governorship elections on Nov. 6.

He said that the corps operatives deployed to cover the election had equally been mandated to clear obstructions from the roads.

He said this included carrying out rescue operations in case of emergencies and maintaining orderliness in polling booths.

According to him, to ensure that the corps plays an effective role in the elections, the corps has also directed the deployment of adequate personnel.

“Avoid any temptation that could lead to abuse of the rights of the electorate.

“I wish all the people of Anambra a peaceful, free and fair elections,” he said.
