Residents of the Agrarian Ukwulu Community in Dunukofia local government area of Anambra State are now living in fear over a strange notice warning them of an imminent attack by alleged members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
The ESN is believed to be the dreaded security and militant arm of members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) which has been having a running battle with the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria over its agitation for the Biafra republic.
Already, the Ukwulu people have raised the alarm after discovering the sudden and strange notice warning them of the looming attacks by the suspected ESN Operatives.
The notice which was pasted on a building wall had warned against repeated refusal to obey the IPOB Sit-At-Home order and obvious consequences of such actions.
A source close to the community said they had woken up on Sunday morning to see a strange notice pasted on a part of the community, warning them of the imminent attack on the people for not obeying the sit-at-home directive declared by the group.
Part of the notice alleged to be pasted by ESN operatives read: “Respect yourself Ukwulu about sitting at home, to avoid crying had I known. We are watching you since, and you people are disobeying us because of dead Nigeria.”
It stated that “From Monday upwards, disobey us again and have yourself to blame. ESN is coming for you.”
Police Public Relations Officer of the State Command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga when contacted said operatives of the command have been deployed to the community.

He said, “The Commissioner of Police, CP Encheng Eworo has deployed police reinforcement team to Ukwulu community, and urges the residents to help the police with credible information aimed at identifying the bad elements among them.
“The CP calls for calm while thanking the members of the public and the community for prompt circulation and calling the attention of the Police and other security agencies.”
According to him, the command has beamed its searchlight on the community, and that the situation was being watched.
