Mali suspended from ECOWAS

In a statement made through its Directorate of Communications on Wednesday in Abuja, ECOWAS commission says that they are going to hold an extraordinary summit to discuss the socio-political situation in Mali.
This is necessary following the coup d’etat that took place on Tuesday where the president and some others were arrested by soldiers.
President Keita then resigned and dissolved his parliament.
In the meantime, ECOWAS has been mediating and has closed borders with member states with Mali. Mali has also been suspended.
