Anxiety in Osun community as suspected cultist kills Monarch’s son

There is confusion in Ofatedo area of Egbedore local government area of Osun State following reported killing of a Prince in the town, Prince Yinusa Abdullahi.

Yinusa,  a son Olofa of Ofatedo, was shot dead in the early hours of Saturday at his residence by a suspected cultist in area.The Cultist was simply identified as BJ.

It was learnt that shops owners around had to close their shops and fled the area as youths staged protests.

The aggrieved youths were said to have made bonfires at different locations in the community.

A resident in the area, who spoke in confidence, said the suspected assailant and the victim had hot argument on Friday night over an unpaid transport fare.

He said some people boarded Korope (Mini bus) and they alighted without paying the driver.

In the process, the driver demanded for his money but they refused to pay him and instead he was reportedly beaten up.

The deceased(Yinusa) apparently displeased with the manner the driver was assaulted,had to follow him to where the man went,a location said to be an Indian hemp joint.

He said “On getting there, the driver pointed at the accused (BJ). This led to an hot argument between Yinusa and BJ . After the argument, the man came back around 12:30 am. He knocked the door and as Yinusa came out, he shot him.”

Hundreds of sympathisers were said to have trooped into Olofa’s palace,while some youth blocked the road forcing motorists moving to Ido-Osun to make quick U-turn

Police men were said to have checked the residence of the killer but not around ,his father was reportedly arrested thereafter.

Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola could not be reached immediately for comments.
