The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the November 8, 2025, election, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, has unveiled an ambitious agenda, pledging to deliver free education, steady electricity, massive job creation, and improved welfare for workers if elected.
Speaking in Awka during an interactive session with journalists and party supporters, Ukachukwu, popularly known as Ikukuoma (Wind of Glory), said his mission is to “rescue Anambra from insecurity, despair and failed leadership” and restore it as the true “Light of the Nation.”
He vowed to prioritise security within his first 90 days in office, promising to dismantle the web of armed groups, touts, and illegal tax syndicates that have plagued the state.
“No society can make progress in the face of insecurity. When elected, I will restore security and the confidence Anambra was once known for within the first ninety days,” he declared.
Unfolding his blueprint, the APC candidate promised free education at all levels, reliable power generation using the state’s gas deposits, mechanised agriculture to tackle hunger, industrialisation to absorb the youth population, and modern healthcare delivery, including general hospitals in all 21 local governments and teaching hospitals in each senatorial district.
He condemned what he described as four years of “brutish life, insincerity and disappointment,” insisting that Anambra urgently needs transformative leadership.
“I have invested heavily in Anambra because I believe in this state. Investors are staying away because things are not working as expected. But when we fix the system, companies will come, and our youths will be employed again,” he said.
Ukachukwu emphasised that his economic plan would be people-driven, particularly in power generation, saying, “Electricity is the engine room of economic transformation. We will harness our natural gas reserves, but the energy infrastructure will be owned by the people, not monopolised by government.”
He assured that healthcare will no longer be treated as a privilege for the few but as a right for all citizens. “Under my administration, every citizen will have access to basic and specialised healthcare,” he pledged.
Calling for support, Ukachukwu stated that he would not betray the confidence of the electorate, emphasising that his candidacy represents a fresh opportunity to restore dignity, security, and prosperity to Anambra State.
