In a statement signed on the 24th of August, Mohammed Sani, the Inspector General of Police, made it known that entry requirements for those wishing to join the Force as constables have been suspended.
About 10,000 constables are to be recruited by the Nigeria Police Force and screening is scheduled to start from 24th August to 16th September 2020. With this statement from the Inspector General, no candidate would be disqualified because of their physicality, age or qualifications.
This would prove to be good news for applicants who would have been discouraged by the earlier statement on Thursday by Frank Mba. His statement had noted that physical deformities, persons below 17 and over 25 and pregnant women are not to apply.
