Nigeria and US-based based disc jockey, Michael Babatunde Adeyinka, popularly known as DJ Tunez, rose to fame in 2016 after he had a collabo with Wande Coal.

The production was entitled “Iskaba”. On the release of the song, it gained massive streams and incredible success.

Now, Tunez has disclosed in a recent interview he had with Oluwakemi Itari Owatemi, alias Kemismallz, on ”The Late-Night Show” on Cool FM, that his work has a spiritual vibe.

He also made it known that American singer and actress, Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, popularly known as Ashanti, told him that she would like to get into the Afrobeat lane.

According to Kemismallz, ”You have been a mastermind behind a lot of hits; you’ve worked with Wande Coal, Burna Boy, Adekunle Gold, Omalay, Wizkid, and so many others, now you’ve worked with Ashanti, I want to know what your processes are like when you want to make a record, like how do you tend to get all of this beautiful talented artists?”

Tunez replied: ”It’s definitely like a spiritual vibe for me. Let’s say I’m working on a beat, and most beats that I hear, I can feel which artists I want to put on it, or which artist I feel fits best for the beat of the music I’m trying to create.

“So, at a time with Ashanti, she had reached out to me and told me that she would like to get into the Afrobeat lane; let’s make some vibes. And I was able to build up some music, and that’s how I had Adekunle Gold to the vibe.

“I just felt like AG was the best fit in terms like the flows he brings nowadays. He definitely likes to enter another scale of the music realm.

“So I just felt like both matched each other, and also with other people as well.

“Once I feel it, I feel like this is the right song for them. My most important thing is just bringing the best out of the artist.

“So, as long as I get that accomplished, I feel good.”
