The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has warned that the reopening of public universities in the country might result in a second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
Dr Igbana Ajir, the Zonal Coordinator of ASUU, made this known while airing the displeasure of the body during a press conference in Markudi. According to him, there are no proper infrastructures in place at these public universities to ensure that social distancing would be feasible.
And the absence of isolation centres at the universities worsens the matter.
He urged Nigerians to take a stand against the Federal government’s not well thought out plan to reopen schools.
