Roads leading to the Muritala Muhammad International Airport were on Monday blocked by aggrieved students protesting the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU).

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) had earlier announced its planned protest to be held at the Lagos Airport.

The protest is in continuation of the students’ ongoing show of grievances over the strike by ASUU and the Federal Government government’s refusal to meet the demands of the union.

The protesting students were seen carrying placards and chanting solidarity songs to show their discontent over the prolonged strike by ASUU.

However, security operatives which include the  Lagos State Police Command, RRS operatives, Lagos Airport Police Command, and other security agencies were on ground to ensure that the peaceful protest was not hijacked by hoodlum.
