The Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU) on Friday reportedly called off it’s eight months old national industrial action.

According to reports, the decision was made at the Union’s national secretariat during the Nation Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja.

The meeting which had state and zonal executive members of ASUU in attendance was held to review the judgement of the Appeal court, which is to  adhere to the rulling of the national industrial court which ordered the union to call off it’s strike and continue negotiations with the federal government.

Although , there has not been a Public declaration by ASUU yet, it was gathered that the decision was made  conditionally.

Recall that the Academic Staff Union of Universities embarked on the strike February 14,2022 to press home it’s demand to the federal government.
