Accident: FRSC, other security agencies to embark on joint patrol

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said that it would embark on a joint patrol with other security agencies on some major expressways in Ondo State to reduce road accidents.

Mr. Sikiru Alonge, the Ore Unit Commander, said this in an interview with newsmen on Tuesday in Ore.

Alonge listed the other security agencies like the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the South-West Security Network codenamed ‘Amotekun’.

The unit commander said that the joint team would patrol the Ore-Benin and the Ore-Ondo Expressways and their environs in a bid to check road accidents.

“Many motorists along these corridors do not heed traffic rules; that is why we are collaborating with other security agencies to arrest the situation and stem road crashes.

“We have also deployed more personnel to major points on the Ore-Ondo and the Ore-Benin Expressways to ensure that motorists comply with traffic regulations,’’ Alonge said.

He urged motorists to abide by traffic rules and regulations, saying that violators would be made to face the full weight of the law.
