VIDEO: Davido sheds tears as Senator Adeleke wins Osun Election

Nigerian singer, David Adeleke a.k.a Davido on Sunday shed tears as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Senator Ademola Adeleke the winner of the Osun Governorship Election.

Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had defeated the incumbent governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Gboyega Oyetola by winning 17 LGAs out of 30.

He scored a total of 403,371 votes while Oyetola polled 375,027 votes.

Reacting to the victory, Davido, who is a nephew of Senator Adeleke could be seen shedding tears as the electoral body declared his uncle the winner of the July 16th exercise.

The singer, who was at the forefront of Adeleke’s campaign, had announced via Twitter on Saturday that the election was in favour of the PDP.

“Remember this is the critical period!! It was this time 4 years ago. Around 1 pm that they started their mischief.

“Everyone be vigilant. Come out and vote and defend your votes until the end! Be alert! We have waited 4 years for this moment!

“All the info coming in is looking very good for PDP and it is making APC jittery and desperate. Please tell our people that are yet to vote that every vote is needed. Everyone needs to go out to vote now,” he tweeted.
