Ayade, C’River Mourns As Ndoma Egba Buries wife, Amaka

The Cross River State governor, Professor Ben Ayade and the people of Cross River State have expressed their deep condolences as Amaka, wife of former Senate leader Victor Ndoma-Egba is interred at “Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish Akparabong Town,Ikom LGA of Cross River State.

Amaka, 54, died some weeks ago following a fatal motor accident.

She was betrothed to Ndoma-Egba, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission,  decades ago when he was a member  of the Cross River State Executive Council.

Speaking during the funeral, Governor Ayade said “the secret of life is known to God.”

The governor who was represented by his deputy, Prof. Ivara Esu, stated that God has a time time for all mortals.

Also Speaking, Senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Sandy Onor lamented that this year had been a year of losses for the former Senate leader but expressed hope that God will bring him happiness.

“This year had been a terrible year for Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba. First you lost your mother, your mother in-law, barbarians invaded your house and you also buried your wife.

“Take heart for God would certainly bring you happiness,” Senator Onor told Ndoma Egba.

In a sermon conducted by  the Bishop of Ogoja Diocese, Rev. Fr. Dr. Donatus Akpan, he stated that great people usually die young just as Jesus Christ, John the Baptist and several other great people had died.

In his exaltation, Senator Ndoma-Egba said that as humans no man can control death but can only control lives.

He said his wife was a  strong woman, builder of human beings and the family will always celebrate her, emphasizing that it is not the number of years that matter but the life in the years that counts.
