Blockbuster clash: Fury vs Joshua talks put on hold

Talks over a blockbuster all-British heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have been put on hold following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Fury offered AJ a surprise shot at the WBC world title after Oleksandr Usyk decided he did not want to fight against in 2022.

It has potentially paved the way for a mouth-watering clash between the two Brits and talks had been progressing.

Fury’s co-promoter, Frank Warren had last week disclosed that a written offer had been sent over to Joshua’s camp.

Joshua accepted the offer of a 60/40 split, in the champion’s favour, to take the fight.

The Gypsy King then gave his own update, offering two dates to his rival.
AJ wanted a date of December 17, however Fury proposed either November 26 or December 3.

A deadline was set for Thursday, September 8 before the sad news that Queen Elizabeth II had died was announced.

Both fighters paid tribute to the monarch with posts on social media, and out of respect have not posted any further updates.
