After three days of intensive searching, the lifeless body of Motunrayo John a drowned JSS 3 student of Mount Carmel Girls Secondary School, Ikare-Akoko has been discovered at the back of a hotel at Ugbe, Akoko North-East local government area of Ondo State where erosion dragged her to.

The father of late Tunrayo, Mr. Ade John, an Okada rider from Iboropa Akoko described the death of his daughter as devastating.

He recounted how he gave her N200 on the day of the incident as transport from Ikare to Iboropa as he was not available to carry her home.

The mother, Mrs. Aduke John said Motunrayo was responsible for many domestic activities in the house as very kind and responsible.

The DPO for Ikare-Akoko, Mr. Olatujoye Akinwale confirmed the corpse discovery while the principal of Mount Carmel Girls School Ikare-Akoko, Mrs. Joke Asiwaju was not available for comments at a time of filing this report.
An education Secretary, M Femi Kure described the incident as very sad, urging schools and parents to have synergy on the safety of the school children.
