Bose Alao urges government to regulate content creation

Actress and filmmaker, Bose Alao, has urged the government to regulate the content churned out by the entertainment industry of the country.
The actress, in a recent interview, lamented that the purpose of storytelling has been defeated by most creators’ desire to make financial gain instead of influencing society positively.
“It is no longer news that content creators, producers, and filmmakers are now after the money rather than the moral information that should be passed on to the people.
“We see people using even family members to create content, just to make money. People just create content as long as they have views, they go to any length irrespective of any morals or standards.
“Government should partner with these digital and streaming platforms, social media to monitor, and filter harmful content,” she said.
Furthermore, the filmmaker advised parents and guardians to observe what their children are exposed to online.
“We all know that social media has its advantages and disadvantages. The problem is that not everybody can use common sense. What you feel is wrong can be seen as right by some people. It is left to us to know what we expose ourselves and children to,” she added.
