A popular Nigerian transgender, Jay Boogie has cried out for help after undergoing a botched Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery.
Boogie said she had the surgery on October 30th and that she was asked to stop taking her hormonal medications before the surgery, that she had no other health concerns before the operation.
In a series of Instagram posts, Boogie stated that she developed sepsis and acute kidney injury a few hours after surgery.
She alleged that the doctor refused to take responsibility and abandoned her in another hospital.
She wrote: “I AM RELEASING THIS INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC FOR TRANSPARENCY PURPOSES.
“FEW HOURS AFTER MY SURGERY SHE INFORMED ME THAT I DEVELOPED SEPSIS AND ACUTE KIDNEY INJURY.
“CGE HEALTHCARE IN QUESTION REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND I WAS ABANDONED IN ANOTHER HOSPITAL AFTER SHE SENT A REFERRED NOTE.
“The medical treatment has put a strain on my finances, I have already exhausted my savings and have had to take out loans to cover the expenses.
“I am reaching out to the general public in the hope that you all might be able to provide some financial assistance to help me pay for my medical treatment.
“Please help me I have a second chance in life! if not for my 4 siblings whom I am their breadwinner and sole provider.”
Boogie has been on dialysis and treatment for sepsis since November 1 and has exhausted her life savings in the course of treatment.
She is now appealing for financial assistance from the public to help her pay for her medical treatment.
However, the Nigerian Plastic Surgery Community has also come out in support of her.
