A man identified as Itoro Clement has been arrested in connection to the death of Vanguard reporter, Tordue Salem.
ThisNigeria reported that Salem’s body was found on Thursday, November 11 after he was declared missing on October 13.
He was reported to have been last seen around Total filling station, close to the Force headquarters, Abuja.
Parading Clement at the premises of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) in Abuja, Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba said the suspect was arrested following an investigation by the Force Intelligence Bureau.
The police PPRO revealed that Clement was driving a 2004 model Toyota Camry with number plate BWR 243 BK at about 10:00 pm on the night that Salem went missing.

Mba stated further that Clement hit Salem around the Mabushi area and escaped from the scene of the crime.
Speaking during the parade, the suspect said he thought that the deceased journalist was an armed robber when he knocked him down.
“I thought he was an armed robber that I knocked down until the following day when I saw a smashed phone on my windscreen. The phone was not working again so I threw it away.
“The place I knocked this person down, is a criminal place everybody knows that place. That was why I ran away,” Clement said.
