Police rescue kidnapped UNIABUJA staff, family

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command in a joint operation with the Army and Department of the state security has rescued the abducted University of Abuja staff and their family.

The police public relations officer of the FCT Command, DSP Josephine Adeh confirmed the report.

“FCT Police Command wishes to inform members of the public that all abducted victims of the university of Abuja were rescued and reunited with their families through a joint operation with other security agencies.”

Following the kidnap at the University of Abuja Staff Quarters, the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, CP Babaji Sunday did dispatched tactical and conventional policing resources to the University main campus and satellite campuses as well as the staff quarters and other affiliate formations of the university, to fortify security, improve public safety and protect citizens in and around the university community.

Preliminary investigations however revealed that six (6) persons were allegedly abducted and taken into the forest by the criminals on sighting the security operatives.
