The Campaign Organization and Governorship ambition of candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the November 6 election in Ananbra state, Senator Andy Uba have received a boost as six members of the State House of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) dumped their party and defected to the All Progressives Congress.
This came barely 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari received Senator Andy Uba at the State House Abuja where he handed the APC flag to the Party’s candidate amid assurances of the Presidency’s support.
Already, indications are rife that more lawmakers are set to dump the ruling APGA for the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the APC.
Chairman APC Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni, had received the lawmakers and immediately presented them with the APC flag at the end of a strategic meeting held behind closed doors.
The six state lawmakers include; Hon. Nonso Okafor, representing Nnewi North, Hon. Timothy Ifedioramma, representing Njikoka 1, Hon. Cater D. N Umeoduagu, representing Aguata 1, Hon. Lawrence Ezeudu, representing Dunukofia, Hon. Arthur Chiekwu, representing Idemili North and Hon. Edward Ibuzo, representing Onitsha North 2.

While receiving the new APC members at a brief event in Abuja, Chairman APC Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee Governor Mai Mala Buni restated the party’s determination to win the Anambra governorship election hence the zeal in engaging critical stakeholders in Anambra state.
Governor Buni said: “Mere looking at what is happening, especially now that so prominent and serving state lawmaker have started joining, the grassroots is moving and Anambra people are moving to the APC.”
Also speaking, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state said the Southeast people have woken up and the region is committed to national politics and be part and parcel of Nigeria.
He also expressed confidence that his party will win Anambra state governorship election.
The decampees described the All Progressives Congress as a preferred political party in Nigeria and promised to mobilise support towards victory in the November 6 governorship polls.
The brief ceremony held at Imo State Governors’s Lodge was attended by top members of the party including, Governors of Lagos, Osun, Kogi, and Imo states.
