A lawmaker representing Zamfara State, Hassan Mohammed Gusau has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party.
This comes barely 72 hours after the state governor, Bello Matawalle defected from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress.
President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan made the announcement at the plenary on Tuesday.

However, his new party was not made known.
Gusau, who represents Zamfara Central Senatorial District, said his decision was based on the internal crisis rocking the state chapter of the PDP.
Recall that it was reported that Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Peter Nwaoboshi, had concluded plans to cross over from the PDP to the APC.
