Five senators told me they didn’t see last budget before it was passed – Deji Adeyanju

Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has alleged that some senators will not be allowed to see the 2025 budget before it is passed.
The activist was reacting to the news of the presentation of the 2025 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly for the 2025 fiscal year by President Bola Tinubu.
Adeyanju disclosed that five senators confided in him that they never saw the last budget before it was passed into law.
He lamented that the newly presented budget will go the same way.
He wrote, “5 senators told me they never saw the last budget after several demands; it was later passed into law with the speed of light. I’m sure, senators won’t also see this budget, neither will they scrutinize it and it will be passed. This is how low we have descended as a nation.”
Recall that Tinubu on Wednesday said N4.91 trillion has been allocated to Defence and Security, while Infrastructure has N4.06 trillion, Education – N3.52 trillion, and Health – N2.48 trillion.
