A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Joe Igbokwe has claimed that Northern Nigeria is responsible for the abundant food in the country.
In a post he made on his Facebook, Igbokwe called on his followers to join him celebrate farmers from the region who took it upon themselves to cater to the needs of the country despite the insecurity.
The Anambra-born politician wrote, “Please join me to celebrate the Northern Nigeria for consistently being the food basket of Nigeria for years now. They are aggressive, consistent and formidable farmers despite incessant attacks by bandits in that region. I celebrate the North.”
In a follow-up post, Igbokwe charged the people of Southern Nigeria to learn from their Northern counterparts.
“The people of Southern Nigeria should sit up. This bloated ego of I better than others should stop. Go and do some due diligence and Study of Northern Nigeria as a political entity. They know how to make use of their hands and lands. They feed you,” he claimed.
